The Pledge Of Allegiance

I have been asked to be an assistant Webelo's leader. That is a blog entry completely it's own! Let me just say, it has been fun and it has helped me to appreciate my children while they are young and relatively calm.

This month we are working on the Citizen requirements. The other leader found this on You Tube to show the boys.

I was amazed! It made me realize so much I take for granted. How these words express so much of what we as citizens of a beautiful, free country should value. Yet, I never gave it much thought. I would just repeat the words.

It made me cry. It is not very cool to cry in front of 10 year old boys! Who cares! It made me proud to be an American. I should be able to cry for my freedoms and rights, right? No matter who is around!

Thanks for sharing that. I've thought of the meaning of those words before, and it makes me cry as well.

All I can say is amen. I have been the webelos leader and bear and wolf for over 3 years now. Scouting is such another world to me...or was. It is cool though. I agree completely we do take so much for granted. If you need some good ideas let me know I have quite a collection of them.
