Sleeptalkers

I have a sleeptalkers in my family. Apparently I fell in love and married one. He is so wonderful and even entertaining when he does not always mean to be. I have come to accept it and even embrace it.

I was quite surprised when I found out it is a genetic thing. Yes, all of our children are sleeptalkers as well. I would not even be the least bit amazed if our little baby inside me is mumbling away, just dying to get in on the night time conversations.

Last night was classic! I, of course can't seem to get comfortable, so I lie awake in bed, waiting for the sand man to give me his triple potion. As I lie there, I hear my daughter yelling, not whispering or mumbling, but yelling something about her brother and his truck. I wonder if she is really awake and having some issue, but then she is quiet for the rest of the night. Also, I realize there is not a truck up here, they are all down stairs in the playroom.

A little while later, I trade sides to find a more comfortable spot. This triggers the husband alarm. He blots right up and starts asking me if we are with in the sight boundaries for our building. He is an architect and studying for his next exam. A little stressed out, don't you think? I start laughing and tell him to go back to bed.

A few minutes later, my son chimes in and starts talking about the book for show and tell. Our little baby girl is also in the the kids room and starts to mumble in her little unclear words something about shoes and juice.

I just sit back and finally find a spot where the sandman can do his magic. I love my family and think they are all so wonderful and I am always up for a good midnight laugh.

I love that I think it is so cute. We have some sleeptalkers too and yet I can't always remember what they say. But it's quite funny I admit. Congrats on the new baby too. I didn't know. That is exciting!
