Magical Adventure

We just returned from a trip to Disneyland. It was a wonderful time, despite it being Spring Break and having 3/4's of the world's population there with us. Surprisingly, Disneyland can accommodate that many people (probably because it's magic... I know my house can not accommodate that many people, but it is not magic).

Our daughter had a wonderful time and was even daring enough to go on Space Mountain, but now wishes she had not. She loved seeing the princesses and riding on Dumbo. She has been wearing her Minnie ears and drawing pictures of Disneyland non-stop.

Our son loved the Monorail the best out of everything. He also liked swimming in the pool at our hotel. He also liked watching the Jedi training and has been practicing with his light saber so he can be ready for the next time we go.

And our baby loved anything if it was not being buckled in the stroller. She also was a little sick, so that made the trip a bit testy for her. She did love all the music and danced and waved during the whole parade.

Mike and I had a night to ourselves there and it felt like we were dating again. It was fun!

There was magic for everyone! It was not quite the magic I had thought it would be, but it still was loaded with more wonderful, amazing, unexpected magic than I could have even imagined.

We are, of course, already planning our next trip.

Out of Practice

I have noticed with the change of weather, I am not as ready as I thought I was for Spring.

I decided to plant a few things in our garden and my legs were killing me....

I started riding our exercise bike to get ready for the real thing and my legs turned to jello....

I raked a few old leaves and sticks out of our yard and my arms were dead....

I walked to school to pick my daughter up and I nearly passed out....

I shaved my legs (I hate it, so I don't do it often in the winter) and I almost needed stitches....

I don't seem to remember other springs being as hard to welcome. But I do remember always walking, biking, gardening, raking and shaving with out it being a big deal....

I must be just a little out of practice.

Two Parents in Orbit

This has become a common phrase around our house lately. We use this when we need to express to our children how completely frustrated we are, and that we are on the verge of blasting off and circling the earth. It is usually after things like our son clogs the toilet with 4 rolls of toilet paper, our daughter decides to play some computer games and crashes our computer, and our baby has discovered the permanent marker supply and run through the whole house "decorating" every wall.

Okay, those are maybe a little exaggerated examples, but not by much. (It was 2 rolls of toilet paper, it is really the kids computer, so why am I stressing so much over it, and they were washable markers that are not washing off.) I think our children are trying to come up with bigger and better disasters because they have not yet actually seen us blast off and go into orbit. I know they think it would be quite a sight to see and so they are really working hard to make it happen.

Chamzi

My sister has been making jewelry for a few years and it is AMAZING! You can check it out here. She made this one for me when she was starting and I wear it all the time! They are so colorful and cool! She is so talented!
