What Child Is This?

We went to Lagoon again last night..... no big surprise. I think this makes trip #7 since it opened. We went with some of our friends who also got season passes. (It is going to be so nice to have so many friends and family to go with and make the summer that much better!)

While there, our very shy, very clingy, very scared of rides son mentions he wants to ride "The Bat"! Holy cow! We don't hesitate to let him change his mind, we just head straight for one of the roller coasters that he said he would never go on and get in line. HE LOVED IT!

He then rode the new ride "Jumping Dragon"... another one he said he'd never go on. Loved it!

He then rode the "Lady Bug Bop"... another one he said he'd never go on. Loved it!

He then went on the "White Roller Coaster"... another one he said he'd never go on. Scared him, but he went on it!

He then went on the "Wild Mouse"... another one he said he would never go on. Loved it!... at least at first. When we got home he said it was kinda scary and he wanted to wait before he rode it again. I told him that was okay because the "Wild Mouse" still scares me!

His big sister loves all rides, but was still hesitant about riding some of those rides last year. She is facing her fears and has decided to go on all the rides she can ride this year. She started on opening day with "The Bat" and she has been slowly adding a new ride or two ever time we go... she is now riding rides that I am even too scared to go on... like "Wicked"!

She, and the rest of us, have told him how fun all these rides are, but he has always been firm about them being too scary and he'll try them when he is older. OLDER?!?! Over night he grew up and was ready to face fears that were far too daunting for him a week ago.... and not just one, he did them all at once!

Mike and I are still trying to figure out what happened to our shy, clingy, scared boy!?!? He is very cautious (which I love), but he also knows when he is ready for something bigger, harder, scarier, whateverer. He decides what and when. I love that about him. Hopefully his school teachers will, too!

Oh! What fun! That's so awesome that he faced all those fears.
And...you really SHOULD try wicked. We tried it last year when we were in town and I almost peed my pants waiting in line and waiting for it to start...but it was SO much fun! The best EVER! We went on it as many times as we could after that. Have fun!

He is so sweet! Jackson has a lot of those same tendencies. Sometimes I just want him to run off and try something new with out clinging to my leg, but I'm trying to give him the space that he needs. Hope all is going well with you guys!

As a result of this post, I had a dream last night about you and Mike at Lagoon and we met up to go on some rides. Those pregnancy dreams are bizarre right? I hope you guys are adjusting well to the new baby. Any tips for me?

So fun, I guess we all make our leaps & bounds sometime. Good for him! Sounds like fun!
