Changing Brands

We have been long time Honda users.  They are great cars.

A few months ago my van needed to be returned since it was a lease.  I morn the loss of that beautiful van.  It was a treat to have a spankin' brand new car!  It will be missed!

However, we found an older, yet very wonderfully taken care of Toyota Sienna for such a screamin' deal.  So I moved to a Toyota owner.

My patient husband has had an Accord for years that I swear has been trying to die for most of them.  It has been leaking oil for maybe a year, the passenger door has always been broken, the back seat belt doesn't work, it has NO radio, the windows are temperamental and the windshield wipers don't work!  Yet he insists, it is only a car... it gets him to and from work and he doesn't need all those things to work.

Last weekend my husband went camping with his brother and they took the kids.  He drove his Old Grey Mare to their house and they all rode up together in his brother's van.  I found out afterwards that my sweet sister-in-law borrowed it to run some errands.  I was terrified!  I felt like the ugly monster that you keep locked up in the basement was on the loose.  (However, it is a completely paid for ugly monster, so it couldn't be that ugly, right?)  Anyway, my next thought was that I was so glad it didn't die on her!  I would have felt awful if it had happened while she was running errands!

Well, I have been insisting on saving up to replace the Old Grey Mare, knowing it's day would come.  It came.  Wednesday the transmission went out.  We are not wanting to fix that with the other issues it has.  It is now a kidney car.

We found a Camry.  It is beautiful!  What a change for my patient, long-suffering husband!  He doesn't know what hit him.  He feels like Cinderella going to the ball.  Mostly, he loves having a radio!  A Radio!

We are now Toyota users.  They are also great cars!
