Well, as birthdays come and go, I celebrated another year. It has been an eventful year, too! I have been able to witness so many amazing things in the past 12 months!
One year ago we had just moved up to our beautiful home and rented out our other home. We had just found out we were going to have another baby. I thought life could not get any better!
Well, in the past year I have endured a hard, hard, hard pregnancy with a follow-up stay at the hospital trying to cheat death a week later. But I have been so blessed to have such a sweet baby girl! She is amazing and a true gift from heaven!
We have also been blessed with the ability to pay off credit card debt and replace both our cars by paying for them with cash in the past year! This is amazing to me! We have never been able to put much money away. Okay, we are savers, but not ever saving enough money to buy 2 cars and pay off our kitchen remodel! There has been some serious divine intervention! Well, we were determined to follow our church leaders counsel to get out of debt and increase our offerings. By doing this, I know the Lord has opened the windows of heaven for us!
We have also been blessed to have 2 temples added to our area. We now have more than I can count within a few hours drive. We even were able to do some of my ancestors names last month thanks to my Mom's hard work at the Family History Library! It has been wonderful to see those new beautiful temples and I am excited to visit them soon!
Another blessing I have received this year was a movie from my sister. It is called "Facing the Giants". If you have not seen it, see it! If you do not own it, buy it! It is so inspiring and helpful to everyone!
I have also been blessed to be acquainted with some of the most amazing women! I have some friends that I worked with at Camp that have taught me so much by their example and strength! I know they are remarkable, stalwart mothers and their sweet angel children are anxiously awaiting the time to be with them again and learn from their wisdom! These friends inspire me and, in turn, inspire my children to be closer to the Lord and trust in Him always.
I have been blessed with a sweet hubby who has done everything in his power to provide a wonderful home and environment for our family! He works so hard at everything he does and he does a great job! Okay, so that is a blessing we have always had, but this year he has taken extra responsibilities to make sure we are happy and safe!
We have also been blessed with wonderful days at Lagoon, lovely sunsets, bushels of peaches and pears and canning at all hours, fun soccer games, very smart children who are excited to go back to school, new renters who love our house, an exercise program that I actually want to wake up for, new couches, and my favorite thing in the world, a porch swing! If I could just have a Banbury Cross doughnut, life would be complete!

Porch swings are totally the best.
It's always a good thing to sit back and reflect on all the blessings. I miss the smell of Banbury Cross donuts!
Thanks Ookie. I miss you and all of our wonderful camp friends!
Thanks for your example of gratitude! Life really is good.
I love this post. It is wonderful to reflect on what we have, and recognize the Lord's hand in our lives. I know I need to do it more often.
I need to hear more about this exercise program that you love - maybe I would love it too. Please share! A Banbury Cross donut sounds so good right now - I love the cake donuts with cinnamon and sugar on them, whatever they are called. I need to make a list like this. Thanks for sharing!
